A Poem for the New Year: YOU ARE

YOU ARE

You are a wonder,
You are a star,
You are destined to shine,
To be admired from near and afar,
Because you're a child
Of the Almighty God,
You belong to Christ.

You are a warrior,
You are a knight,
You were born to face challenges,
And win the fight against darkness,
Because you're a child,
Of the Almighty God,
You belong to Christ.

You are the salt,
You are the light,
You are the flavour and the guide,
To a world that's tasteless and lost for sight,
Because you're a child,
Of the Almighty God,
You belong to Christ.

When problems trouble your mind,
When you think of mistakes and failures,
When fears arise about the future,
When you feel unloved,

Just close your eyes and remember,

You are a child,
Of the Almigthy God,
You belong to Christ.

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
